SLAX is a very cool KISS Linux Live CD distribution based on Slackware that comes in a couple of flavors (editions), such as:
Standard Edition
The standard edition… There is not much to say. 2.6 Kernel, KDE 3.5, Wi-Fi connectivity.
Server Edition
My favorite flavor: DNS, DHCP, SAMBA, HTTP, FTP, MySQL, SMTP, POP3, IMAP, and SSH - all pre-configured and ready to use.
KillBill Edition
Same as standard edition with some extras like Wine, dosbox and Qemu (for emulation of Windows applications).
Popcorn Edition
The lightest edition with a GUI, designed to fit 128MB. It runs Fluxbox instead of KDE.
The cool thing about SLAX is that you can run it on a USB disk and spice it up with a bunch of additional modules and a little help from MySLAX Creator.
SLAX looks great! Never tried it before but those print screen sure makes it look like a great KDE desktop to work with.
I’ll be trying SLAX soon.
